CHICAGO (AP) — ComEd officials say there are still
about 259,000 customers without power a day after strong winds and driving
rains pounded northern Illinois. A record 868,000 homes and businesses were left in
the dark on Monday. Since then about 631,000 people have had their power
restored.
About 900 repair crews from Wisconsin, Indiana,
Michigan and Illinois are working on restoring power.
ComEd officials don't know exactly when all
customers will have power again, but estimate it will be several days.
