Congrats to Chicago’s VaShawn Mitchell, who was recently added as opening act for Bebe and Cece Winans and Mary Mary’s tour. Mitchell performed his latest track, Nobody Greater, which is burning up the charts and airwaves to a standing room crowd at the Chicago Theater earlier this month when the tour came to Chicago. Meanwhile, Cece Winans has once again teamed up with Donald Lawrence to promote church choirs across the country for the How Sweet the Sound Gospel Celebration.
Former
Chicagoland natives Michelle Williams, Ann Nesby and Clifton Davis—who was raised in Chicago – looked great as they starred in
David Talbert’s What My Husband Doesn’t Know. The show was fabulously
headlined by Brian White and Morris Chestnut.
Super
producer, Percy Gray and Stellar Award-winning Joshua's Troop kicked off their first
musical of the year recently at Trinity All Nations Church, 9600 S. Vincennes,
where Bishop Larry Roberts is pastor. Gray is also preparing for the release of
the Grammy-nominated Chicago Mass Choir’s release and concert on May 7.
Three-time
Grammy winner, Darius Brooks, celebrated the second year anniversary of his church,
Grace Central, 605 25th Avenue in west suburban Bellwood. Musical guests and
speakers included Dr. Beatrice Gardner, Rev. Jesse Jackson, Pastor Steve Huff,
Rev. Marshall Davis and Monique Walker. Brooks also recently returned from
performing on the annual Radio One Cruise.
Industry
executives and music lovers gathered to salute multiple award winning producer
and writer, Percy Bady, on April 18 at the UIC Forum. Bady has written and produced a string
of hits including, I Understand, Still I Rise, Hold Up the Light and more for
Yolanda Adams, Bebe and Cece Winans, Smokie Norful, Tramaine Hawkins and Rev
Milton Brunson’s Thompson Community Singers.
In case
you didn’t know, Bishop Carlton Pearson is pastoring New Dimension Worship Center in
Chicago.
Happy
31st anniversary to Bishop Dr. Horace E. Smith and First Lady Susan
Davenport Smith
of Apostolic Faith Church in Chicago.
“Remember
you are blessed by the Best!”
