SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Illinois' top lawyer says a new alcoholic drink in various fruit flavors poses severe health risks and is being marketed to minors.
Attorney General Lisa Madigan says Woodbridge-based
Pabst Brewing Co. should lessen the alcohol concentration in its newest malt
beverage called Blast. The drink allegedly contains the same alcohol
concentration as four 12-ounce cans of beer.
Madigan joins a group of 17 other U.S. attorneys
general in the request. Attorneys general across the nation have targeted
alcohol-infused drinks — most famously Four Loko by Phusion Projects, which
agreed last year to remove caffeine from the drink.
