CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago cultural officials have announced the lineup for seven free global music concerts this summer in the city's showcase Millennium Park.
The popular outdoors Music Without Borders series
runs June 9 to July 21 at the park's Pritzker Pavilion. Folk, pop and
traditional music groups from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America and South
America are all featured.
The opening act is a folk music group from Inner
Mongolia. Others include a Paris-based electroswing act; a group playing Cuban
dance music and a performer who has revolutionized indigenous Egyptian music.
All concerts will begin at 6:30 p.m., with seating
in the band shell and on the adjoining lawn.
