Obama turns out for Chicago Olympics celebration

by Nedra Pickler

The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee made an unscheduled visit to an afternoon event in Chicago to celebrate the city making the cut as a finalist to host the Olympics.
Obama told a crowd gathered in a downtown plaza that he looks forward to marching into an Olympic stadium that would be built just a few blocks from his South Side home.
The Illinois senator was home in Chicago a day after meeting with former rival Hillary Rodham Clinton in Washington.
Obama was greeted by thunderous applause from the crowd and shouts of "Yes we can."
Chicago is one of four cities trying to land the 2016 Games. The others are Tokyo; Madrid, Spain; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
