CHICAGO (AP) — A former social secretary in President Barack Obama's White House is on the inauguration committee for Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel and other city officials.
Desiree Rogers was named Tuesday as one of seven
people to serve on the committee that will put together the May inauguration
for Chicago's three citywide elected officials.
Rogers left the White House last year, a few months
after she was criticized for an embarrassing incident where two guests crashed
the Obama administration's first state dinner.
