Chicago garbage truck driver dies of heart attack

Associated Press

CHICAGO (AP) — A 60-year-old Chicago garbage truck driver has died while helping to shovel snow on his route.

The Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department says William "Billy" King was working on the city's North Side Saturday morning when he had a heart attack.

King had gotten out of his truck to help shovel snow around garbage carts when the heart attack happened. He'd worked for the city for more than 10 years.

Commissioner Thomas Byrne says coworkers describe King as caring and "always willing to help a friend."
